urine infections

hi. is it normal to keep getting urine infections during and after the 5 week radio/chemo treatment?.. my partner has had 4 and is finding it exhausting and is in so much pain. i asked his oncology nurse, but she said she doesnt know anyting about it!, thankyou, mandy

Sorry to here that your partner is having so much pain and possible urine infections. It is quite common to get infections during chemo/radiotherapy as the immune system is compromised during treatment. I would suggest your partner see’s his GP and request a urine test to check for infection and maybe to have treatment if necessary
