shooting pains

my partner is halfway through a 6 week radio/chemo course for rectal tumour and is experiencing shooting pains in his bowel.. is this normal??.. he is worried in case the tumour is growing rather than shrinking.. any advice please

Hi @mandajayne sorry to read about your partner's shooting pains, but during chemo had much the same problem but the chemotherapy shrank by bowel tumour quite well, I doubt it will be growth of the tumour particularly under radiation. I would phone your cancer nurse and get some advice, they may have a weekend on duty advice line as the oncology help line last me last Saturday before going on holiday. Sure someone with a similar experience of your issue will get back to you from the forum.
